The Final Outcome

Well, tomorrow night will be the final meeting between the Indiana Pacers against the Miami Heat. This entire season these two teams have had magical and intensive games with different outcomes each meeting. This will be the fourth meeting between these two teams in which the Pacers lead the series 2 -1. With the Heat losing to the Memphis Grizzles in Wednesday’s matchup, they moved 1/2 game behind the Pacers for the first seed in the east. The matchup tomorrow should be the most intriguing one of this whole season between the two power house teams.

We should look forward to seeing how much the Pacers starters will play after Frank Vogel ( Indiana ‘s Coach ) said he would rest his starters the final four games of the season. If this is the exact case then the Pacers are just giving away the 1st seed but I doubt if that would be the case. With a healthier Miami Heat squad, their entire roster may get a crack at the Pacers this time unlike last. This game by itself may determine who’ll have the home court advantage in the eastern conference in which the Heat really need. Tomorrow night’s game shall be very interesting, stay tuned!

Pacers recent struggles move Heat back into 1st

Lately, the once feared Indiana Pacers have been on a really ugly losing skid as of late. The Pacers played the Atlanta Hawks Sunday, April 6 which resulted in them losing by 19 points to the possible 8th seed. Miami were also in action Sunday against the New York Knicks who’ve been making a nice playoff push for the 8th Spot in the eastern conference the last 15 games. Unfortunately if the Pacers lost the game that would move Lebron James and the Heat into first rather they won or lost.

Questions hinder me on how the Indiana Pacers so happen gave up their spot to the 2 time defending champions in that dramatic lost to the Atlanta Hawks at their own environment. In the Heat’s overwhelming win Lebron James did just what a king does by moving his team to the throne of first place by leading them to victory. He Ended the game with another 38 point effort with 6 dimes to go along with it. Somewhat hilarious how good these guys really are, every year there is something that happens with this team and they still seem to fight back and win like warriors do. It’s amazing how they play so great at the right time, these guys will be a force if injures don’t hinder them come the start of the playoffs.

To keep your mind wondering in many ways, why have the free agency saga with the big three settled down so hard? Or in other instances why has Wade been sitting, just resting or getting prepared for physical playoff basketball? Are the big three really going to depart once a championship is in hand? More answers to come!

Heat vs Pacers Postgame

The Miami Heat played the Indiana Pacers for the 3rd time this season on March 26th which had an outcome of a final score of 83 – 84 with the Pacers winning. This game was one of the most intensive games this whole season with great players playing to the final seconds! It all ended on a half court play with Lebron James catching the ball and passing it to Chris Bosh for a missed game winning jumper as time expired. Questions could steadily wonder like why Lebron didn’t take the last shot or take the ball to the hoop for the win? As the game was over they walked to the locker room with their heads down in defeat but in my eyes this defying loss could help come playoff time.

Lebron James ended the game with 38 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the hard fought loss. The final play they ran was very challenging even though it din’t end in the extravagant fashion they would’ve liked. ” They’re the champs, they’re going to bring out the best in us.” David West said. Known for his big man attributes he made a clutch three pointer which turned the game all way around during the final seconds of the fourth quarter. The Miami Heat continue to struggle as time winds down this season with only a month left in the season. There has been speculation that injury has been surrounding the team with their star Lebron dealing with a bad back and Wade dealing with sore knees and calf muscles.

Miami Heat vs. Indiana Pacers: Postgame Grades and Analysis

So the word is, what can they do now? Their latest skid have been up and down and for past champs they’re not in the best of shape as they were the during the previous three seasons. The last 10 games they’re 5 – 5 and are 3 games behind 1st place with only 12 games left but they will see the Indiana Pacers again April 11th which will be very intriging.

Pacers, Championship, Reason?

So there’s this new franchise in the NBA that has be getting overwhelming praise night in and night out for their always underdog mentality when they step foot on the court. This team happens to be the new and improved Eastern Conference runner up Indiana Pacers. These guys have been respectively one of the most exciting teams in the NBA this season by their hard work and hunger every time they lace up their sneaks to get out there. The play of their star Paul George and his teammate Lance Stephenson could be key to if they can overcome the Miami Heat if they meet in the playoffs, again! If you don’t remember they fell short one game of playing in the Finals for the first time since the ‘1999-2000’ basketball season.  ( http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/IND/ )

Their x-factor Lance Stephenson has been so much of a help this season for his team. This year has been an most improved type of year with him averaging 14.1 pts., 7.2 Rpg., and 5.2 apg for them. For him himself, that’s almost 6 more points than he averaged last season, almost 4 more rebounds than last year and 3 more assists than he did( http://espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/4244/lance-stephenson ) . That’s great for a player that had to pick up for a bruised up Danny Granger this season and last. He will be a big key this year in the playoffs because I think in order for them to beat Miami he has to play even better than he already has which will be very impressive if he does! When I say that I’m not talking one good game and two bad games, I’m talking good games every time they touch the floor. Their star Paul George pretty much will step up but Lance will be the definite key to their success throughout the rest of the season.

Now, when I watch basketball I fall in love with teams that play with swag and have a win or go home mentality. This team seems to be the perfect squad to watch when wanting to see flashy, underdog, great team basketball.  It’s great to see that these guys are up to the challenge on facing the heat because if these two teams don’t face off, sad to say it’ll be a easy road in the conference finals against anybody else in the Eastern Conference.  I can’t tell the future like Ms.Cleo but I’m pretty sure these teams will rumble in the ring when they come face to face which has become a racing rivalry. Expect a hard fought fight this year with many blood sweat tears and whoever comes off on top will actually win it all this year.

There’s A New Threat in Town

Image

My blog topic consists of why the defending NBA champions Miami Heat could possibly have trouble with the upcoming Indiana Pacers in this year’s playoffs.  Last year in the Eastern Conference Finals the Pacers lost their chance of making the championship by being defeated. It was a hard fought series all the way through, ending in seven games. As of today, the Indiana Pacers have a 2 ½ game lead on Miami in the east which surprises a lot of critics to start this crazy year of hoops off.  Now, with the addition of Andrew Bynum how much more of a threat could these thrilling pacers is to the two time defending champs? (there should be a link here)

So many of Indiana’s players have been on an amazing tear this year on the stat sheet.  Their star player Paul George has made a dramatic name for his self this year being a defensive presence and also and great offensive threat. Also, his sidekick Lance Stephenson is having a most improved player of the year type of season making highlights and recording the most triple doubles this season.  Roy Hibbert & David West are still being consistent year after year by holding the paint down and steadily being one of the best front courts in the league. My honest opinion is that George Hill will be key if the Indiana Pacers want to make it, he’s been the somewhat weakness but he still does great which might be just enough to slide past the heat in the playoffs. This new rivalry has been the talk of the league lately and by June we shall know who really will take control of the eastern conference!
